Preschool Curriculum

At school we focus on four areas of learning

Alphabet

Letter and Sounds, both verbal and written

Numbers and Shapes

Counting, writing, and identifying shapes

Art

Fun projects that include cutting, gluing, coloring, and painting

Social Development

Playing, interacting, and developing listening skills

The Preschool

ABC Adventures Preschool is located in a safe, quiet neighborhood in Cedar City. Dropoff and pick up for students is on the sidewalk in front of Kim's house.

The Classroom

Our classroom is located in the basement of Kim's house. Students enter in the back door. See photos in the Gallery section.

  • Kid-sized tables and chairs for projects
  • Story time and music area
  • Indoor and outdoor play area

Playground

The outdoor play area is a safe, fun area. It includes a grass lawn, lifetime playground and swing set, a sandbox, a ground level trampoline, vegtable and flower garden. Trampoline rules are enforced to prevent accidents.

The play area is completely fenced in.

Classes

At ABC Adventures we learn the alphabet and early math skills, practice social skills, and develop confidence and independence. Class sizes are small to allow for more individulized help.

The kids call me Ms Kim. I have been teaching preschool for 12+ years. I am married and have four children. I graduated from SUU with a bachelors degree in Elementary Education. I love Diet Dr Pepper, peanut butter M&Ms, and house plants. Most of all, I love working with children and watching them learn.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • ABC Adventures starts the last week in August. We then follow the Iron County School District Calendar. Click here to Click here for the ICSD calendar

  • 3 yr old class - 8 students
    4-5 yr old classes - 10 students

  • Venmo, cash, or check

  • No. I intentionally keep the class sizes small so I can handle them without help. Most preschool children behave better when their parent is not present.

  • The 3 yr olds need to be 3 before September 1st
    The 4 yr olds need to be 4 before September 1st

  • Registration begins for the upcoming school year on February 1st. A waiting list is kept for those students that were unable to secure an open spot in the class. You will be contacted if a spot opens up.
